Air Duct Cleaning
Air Duct Cleaning done by 2nd Chance is done right! Using HEPA negative air and the viper whip system allows all debris to be removed quickly and effectively! Dust and debris are common in air systems and build up over time. The build up of this particulate matter can lead to a host of problems in your home. You can have wear and tear hamper your air system, costing costly repairs to your HVAC system. Air quality can be adversely affected if dust is allowed to build up and is ignored. When you have dust in an air system you can create an unwanted ecosystem in your air supply. Mold and bacteria give a food source to dust mites and insect which in turn allow spiders and even rodents a free meal.
Clean air to breathe is sweet!
According to the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA), the average six-room house collects 40 pounds of dirt, dust and allergens in its air ducts each year. That’s a big problem, considering that 40,000 dust mites can thrive in only one ounce of dust. Those little dust “bunnies” contain a host of unhealthy bacteria, fungi and mold. The EPA estimates indoor air can be two to five times more polluted than outdoor air. Even worse, the contaminated air circulates throughout your house every time the heating or cooling system kicks on. Blowing dirt and debris all over all your stuff, your home and in your breathable air!

How Does 2nd Chance Water Restoration Do Air Duct Cleaning?
2nd Chance Water Restoration uses state of the art equipment and years of experience in cleaning air systems. We use HEPA filtered vacuum systems in conjunction with a viper air whip system. 2nd Chance then proceeds to go through every register and return with both negative and forced air which ensures quality work every time. We will go from one end of the air system to the other until everything is cleaned. We will walk the customer through the entire process and supply photographic evidence of our step by step progress.
Once your air system has been cleaned from top to bottom with the HEPA vac and negative air systems then you will have the option to apply sanitizer disinfectants. One will be for Germs/Bacteria/Dust Mite Feces and the other will be for Mold/Mildew/Fungus. The importance of sanitizers in an air system has often been debated by the scientific community. However, there is agreement that it is safe when done by professionals with the proper equipment and training. Whenever you clean anything that has heavy dust and debris then it is a good idea to disinfect it. We use Microban products in conjunction with an Ultra Low Volume fogger to properly apply our disinfectants to your air system.
We take our time to do the job right by going through every opening and cleaning each the same. When the air system is placed under negative air pressure and the lines are agitated by forced air and brushes then dust has no chance. Our technicians will provide before, during and after pictures of your specific air system during the course of the project. 2nd Chance loves having the opportunity to educate and inform a customer whenever they occur and encourages customers to witness as much of the cleaning process as possible. Dust is primarily caused by dead skin and that can be very disconcerting when allowed to build up over generations. When the dead skin passes through your HVAC system it can get cooked and turn into carbon. That can cause carbon filtration to your carpets. If you notice black lines around the edges of your carpeting then that is typically from having a dirty air system. When you find that you are constantly dusting and it seems like it never stops then you also might want to have your air ducts cleaned.
If you notice moisture in your air system then that needs to be rectified right away. Drain lines and filters need to be maintained. Moisture in your unit or drain pans will lead to mold growth and could potentially affect the whole system. The home owner is the first line of defense and it is up to you to maintain your HVAC system.
Whenever you have a mold project you should first have the air system cleaned, sanitized and closed off from the affected area. That is how 2nd Chance Water Restoration got into air duct cleaning in the first place. We have been certified for years in mold remediation and thus cleaning air systems for mold removal projects. It seemed like a natural fit to at this point offer our excellent duct cleaning service to all that have need for that. If you have a dirty air system then we’ll give it a 2nd Chance at cleanliness.
